ELLIOTT, ROMA F. The death of Roma F. (Carr) Elliott of Geary, NB, occurred on June 30th, 2007 at the Oromocto Public Hospital surrounded by her family after a brief illness. Born November 22nd, 1922, Roma was the daughter of the late Merritt and (Mina) (Grasse) Carr. Roma is survived by her son, Mark (Patricia) Allen; one sister, Margaret (Harold) Grey; special niece, Sheree (Dennis) Dickinson; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husbands, Bruce Allen and Robert Elliott; sons, Larry Allen and Carl Allen; brothers, Milford Carr and Bert Carr. Roma loved to garden and up to 2 weeks before her death was able to go outside and tend to her flowers with help from her caregivers, Cindy and Linda. Her favorite chair was in the window overlooking the backyard and flower garden. Roma had a full and varied work life. At times she worked in Toronto for the Toronto Transit Commission, raised dogs, Standardbred horses, raced horses and for the last years of her work life, managed the Pennington's ladies wear store while it was in the Regent Mall. Roma was a member of the Upper Gagetown Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago Street, Oromocto on Tuesday, July 3rd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The Funeral service will take place at the Geary Baptist Church on Wednesday July 4th, 2007 at 2:00 PM with Rev Greg Sparkes officiating. Burial to follow in the Preston Carr Cemetery in Geary.
