HAYES, LOUIS EDWARD The passing of Louis Edward Hayes, of Tay Creek, NB husband of Leona (Currie) Hayes occurred on Monday, August 27, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 28, 1923 at Tay Creek, NB, he was the son of the late Thomas and Annie (Owens) Hayes. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Louis operated the family farm for most of his life. Besides his wife of 55 years, he is survived by one daughter, Lynn (John) McMinniman of Fredericton, NB; sons, David (Debbie) of Royal Road, NB, Kerry (Brenda) of Tay Creek, NB, Dana (Nancy) of Tay Creek, NB, and Neal (Lisa) of Tay Creek, NB; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Horncastle of New Maryland, NB; brothers, Joseph Hayes of Tay Creek, NB and Leo Hayes of Ontario; sisters-in-law, Bertha Hayes of Tay Creek, NB and Eileen Hayes of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Louis was predeceased by sisters, Margaret Delucry, Mary Hayes, Josephine Crotty and Agnes Hayes; brothers, Thomas, Gerald, Fred and Harold Hayes; brother-in-law, Neal Currie and his wife Chris. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Tay Creek, NB on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at 12 noon with Father Maurice Swift as celebrant. Pallbearers for the service are Jonathan Hayes, Adam Hayes, Brendan Hayes, Wayne Hayes, Robin Currie and Billy Nealis. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
