
JEAN G. (RICE) SLANE
SLANE, JEAN G. (RICE) 1918-2007 Mrs. Jean Slane passed away at the Central N.B. Nursing Home on Thursday August 23, 2007 at the age of 89. Born in Boiestown on July 12, 1918 she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mina (Lyons) Rice. She was a member of St. Peters Anglican Church in Boiestown and Boiestown Golden Age Club. Jean loved her family and enjoyed the family gatherings and sing songs. She was always there with a smile and a helping hand. She also enjoyed knitting, gardening and quilting. She is survived by three daughters, Mary Jane Stairs (Eugene) of Storytown, Phyllis Price (Blaine) of RiverBank, Charlene Johnston (Sam) of Durham Bridge; one sister, Frances Miner (Perry) of Boiestown; one brother, Robert Rice (Mary Jane) of Fredericton; one son-in-law, Fred Sebastian; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles; one daughter, Linda (Sebastian); one sister, Roberta McMancus; four brothers, Fred, Harold, Willard and Wendell. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday August 26, 2007 at St. Peter's Anglican Church in Boiestown from 2-4 and 7-9. The funeral service will be held from St. Peter's Anglican Church, in Boiestown, on Monday August 27, 2007 at 2 pm with Father Fraser officiating. Burial will be in the McGivney Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter's Anglican Church or to the donor's choice.
