MCCAIE, SIMONE (1926-2007) MONCTON, NB - Simone McCaie, 81 of Moncton, wife of the late Réginald McCaie, passed away after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at the Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Barachois on February 12, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Arice Léger and Obéline Richard. Before her retirement, she was employed at the Hyne's Restaurant in Moncton. Simone will be sadly missed by her two loving daughters, Gisèle Burke (Ray) of New Maryland, NB and Annette LeBreux (Richard) of Matane, Québec; one son Réginald Jr of Moncton; three grandchildren, Marc, Jean David and Stéphanie LeBreux of Matane, Québec; one sister, Rhéa Ballentyne of Toronto; three sisters- in-law, Adrienne Gauvin, Marguerite Ferguson and Mariette Léger; three brothers-in-law, Gérald McCaie (Émilia), Lionel McCaie and Léo Arsenault; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband Réginald (1970), she was predeceased by two sons, Roger in 1978 and baby Joseph at birth (1958); she was also predeceased by four sisters, Dorothée, Marie-Louise, Réjeanne and Yolande; two brothers, Gonzague and Benoit. Resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900), with visitation on Saturday, September 1, 2007, from 9 a.m. until departure (11:05) for the Assumption Cathedral, St. George Street, Moncton, from where the funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:15 a.m. Interment will be in the Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
