ALICE MAY SAUNDERS

SAUNDERS, ALICE MAY The passing of Alice May Saunders, of Penniac Road, Mount Hope, NB wife of the late Burpee Saunders, occurred on August 31, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on December 20, 1912 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late David and Clara (Gibbs) Banks. She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary, Marysville Legion Branch # 15. Alice was a former employee of the Cotton Mill in Marysville, NB. Alice is survived by her sons, Gary (Joan), George (Mary) and Darrell (Mary) Saunders of Penniac, NB; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; son-in-law, Stewart Duffy of Penniac, NB and several nieces and nephews. Alice was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her husband and parents, Alice was predeceased by daughter, Anna Mae Duffy; sisters, Rachael, May and Phyllis; brothers, Wallace, Harry, Herb, Darrell, Vern and Lenny. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Sunday, September 2, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's, T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, September 3, 2007 at 11 am with Rev. Joan MacDonald officiating. Interment will take place in United Church Cemetery, Penniac, NB. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Penniac United Church; New Brunswick Extra-Mural Program or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
