Mrs. Euna L'Roy Burnside , known as Sonny, passed away on November 8, 2008 at Castor, Alberta at the age of 97 years. She was born November 28, 1910 at The Dalles, Oregon. She leaves to mourn her sons: Dennis (Susan) of Castor, AB, Kim (Marilyn) of Moose Jaw, SK, Erik (Arlene) of Dauphin, MB; daughter Gail (Gerry) Abrams of Regina, SK; sister June Forsyth of Burnaby, BC; 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 4 great- great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Jack; brothers and sisters: Bob, Larry, Bruce, Thelma, Clarice and Lil. Funeral Services were held at Knox United Church, Castor, Alberta at 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, November 12, 2008 with Rev. Barbara Zimmerman officiating. Organist was Cathy Schaffner. Knox United Church choir was the leader of song. A tribute was given by Granddaughter Sam Sonnenberg and Granddaughter Heather Howe read a Poem for Grandma. Honorary pallbearers were Greg Howe, Dwayne Nagy, Cam Sonnenberg, Gerald Byers, Camille Dezaeyer, Derek Burnside, Todd Burnside and Jason Burnside. And All of her beloved Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. The interment will take place in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Moose Jaw SK. Family and friends gathered for a time of fellowship and lunch prepared by the Knox U.C.W.
