
WALTER GLENWOOD JEWETT
JEWETT, WALTER GLENWOOD Walter G. Jewett of Harvey Station passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Walter was born at Smithfield in 1937, a son of the late Eldon and Edna (Pollock) Jewett. He began work as a welder and later in life was successfully self employed in many different vocations. He was a member of the Cherry Mountain Masonic Lodge #50. Walter is survived by his wife, June M. (McElwain) Jewett; his children, Ricky Jewett, Harvey, Joey Jewett (Sylvia), Harvey, Dale Jewett, Fredericton and Cheryl Messer (Laurie), Harvey; two sisters, Lila Morehouse (Danny), Fredericton and Luann Greer (Donnie), Harvey; three brothers, Claire Jewett (Maxine), Fredericton, Alton Jewett (Vesta), Harvey and Paul Jewett (Elaine), Temperance Vale; his grandchildren, Aaron Jewett, Chrissy Jewett (Jamie), Amanda Scott, Sebrina Jewett (Manuel), Lindy Little (Ryan) and Justin Messer (Kelsey); his great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Jayden, Eli, Sol and Josiah; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Larry Jewett; a granddaughter, Jamie Jewett; and an infant brother, Dale. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Walter's niece, Apryl Jewett, a palliative care nurse, who's loving care allowed Walter to stay at home during the final weekend of his illness. Visiting hours will be held at the Harvey United Pentecostal Church, 2031 Route 3, Harvey Station on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the church on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Todd McGuire officiating. Interment will be in Acton Cemetery. Walter's grandchildren will be honorary pallbearers. Active pallbearers will be Claire Jewett, Alton Jewett, Paul Jewett, Floyd Thompson, Eldon Toner and Ryan Little.
