Sophie Josephine Huntley The family of Sophie announces her passing on November 10, 2008 at the age of 86. Born near Spring Valley, SK, she received her education at Red Lake School near Buttress, SK and Old Settlers School near Fillmore, SK. In 1946 she married Miles Huntley of the Buttress district and resided on the farm until January 2003. Predeceased by her parents Paul and Katherine Sydia, brothers Sam, Tony, and Alex, sisters Stella, Mary, Annie, Cassie, Olga, and Emily, nephews George, Bill, Edward, and Dale, and niece Molly, Sophie is survived by her husband Miles; sons Sid (Esther) and Phil; daughter Sylvia (Lloyd) Fox; grandsons Ray (Dionne) Fox, Jordan and Aidan; Jeff (Shelley) Fox, Jacob and Zachary; sisters-in-law Sophie Sydia and Jean Huntley; and numerous nieces and nephews and families. The Funeral Service will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Monday November 17, 2008 at 1:30 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. A Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday evening 7 - 8 pm at the Funeral Home. Anyone wishing a donation in Sophie's memory may do so to a charity of choice.
