MARJORIE MARIE SACKVILLE ILLSLEY
ILLSLEY, MARJORIE MARIE SACKVILLE, NB - Marjorie Marie Illsley, age 79, of Dorchester, passed away peacefully at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville on Friday, October 26, 2007. Widow of the late Glenn Illsley, she was born in Brookfield, Colchester County, NS in 1928, a daughter of the late Cecil and Irene (Pynn) Locke. Marjorie lovingly devoted her life to her family and friends. Everyone who stopped at her home enjoyed a warm welcome, delicious home-made food, and she always found time to sit down and play a game! She was also well-known for her knitting, sewing and quilting. She was a member of the First United Baptist Church, Dorchester and a Dominion Life Member of the United Baptist Women's Missionary Union of the Atlantic Provinces. While her health permitted, she was very active in the work of her Church. She was a member of the Sunshine Class and the Dorothy Barnett WMS. She is survived by sons, Colin (Carla), Gagetown, NB, Glenn (Grace), Brookfield, NS, Allison (June), Saltsprings, NS, Ivan (Kathy), Dorchester, NB, Cyrus (Paula), Hilden, NS; daughters, Lynnette and Beverly, Dorchester, NB, Janice (Nev) Garrity, Sackville, NB, Sandra (Paul) Daigle, Quispamsis, NB; 15 dearly loved grandchildren, Lisa, Susan, Michael, Amy, Lynn, Sean, Erin, Sarah, Robin, Lindsey, Melissa, Stephanie, Christopher, Jenna, and Nicole; two great grandsons, Thomas and Eli; brothers, Donald, Frank (Barbara), both of Brookfield, NS, Glendon (Shirley), Bible Hill, NS, Keith (Eldora), Stephenville, NL; sister, Ruth (Leon) Colbourne, Truro, NS; plus many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Reta (Raymond) Purdy; brother, Wayne; sister-in-law, Verna Locke. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where visitation will be held on Monday, October 29, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at 2 pm in the First United Baptist Church, Dorchester, NB, Pastor Cecil Symes officiating. Burial will follow in the Dorchester Cape Cemetery.
