HOVEY, RONALD EDWARD The passing of Ronald Edward Hovey, of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Ethel Marion (Skidmore) Hovey, occurred on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 24, 1924, in Devon, NB, he was the son of the late Merlin and Minnie Olive (McKeil) Hovey. Ronald was a graduate of Fredericton High School, class of 1941. Following high school, he was hired by CIBC and also joined the Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve. Ronald served in Halifax from 1943 until the end of the war. In 1945 he returned to the CIBC until his retirement in 1983. Ronald is survived by two sisters, Mabel Sloat and Winnifred McSorley both of Fredericton, NB; along with several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Ronald was predeceased by one sister, Helen Howe. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB, on Monday, November 5, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place from Gibson Memorial United Church on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 11am with Rev. Gil MacKenzie officiating. Interment will take place in the Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
