STUART LEWIS KEIVER

KEIVER, STUART LEWIS 1921-2007 Stuart Lewis Keiver, 86, of Riverview and formerly of Albert passed away peacefully on November 10, 2007 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital. Stuart was born in Harvey, Albert County, N.B. on September 19, 1921 the son of the late Howard and Susan (Stuart) Keiver. Stuart graduated from the Riverside Consolidated School in 1938. Following his graduation he attended the Provincial Normal School where he received his teachers licence. He took great pride in his teaching and is fondly remembered by his students. He taught from 1940 until 1948, primarily in the Riverside Consolidated School. After teaching he went to work as an accountant for the Provincial Government Department of Transportation where he continued until his retirement in 1984. Stuart grew up in the Harvey Baptist Church attending in his younger years, then attended the Albert Baptist Church, where he was Deacon, last attending the First Baptist Church in Moncton, when he moved to Riverview. He was a member of the Howard Lodge No.15 F & AM for over 61 years and a member of the Winston Churchill Chapter No.19 O.E.S. He also enjoyed traveling and was a founding member of the Citation Indian Trailer Club. Stuart was above all a people person, he loved people. He was known for his great story telling. He was a very kind and considerate man and his smile and special laugh will never be forgotten by all whom he touched. He will be deeply missed by his two sons, David Keiver (Eva) of West Vancouver, Darrell Keiver (Angela) of Calgary; brother, Donald Keiver (Joan) of Midway; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He will also be deeply missed by his good friend over the past few years, Ruby Anderson. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, Winona (Anderson) and their son, Dale; his second wife, Geraldine (Thompson); and sister, Elenora Keiver. He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Monday , November 12th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Howard Lodge will be holding a Masonic Memorial Service on Monday evening at 6:45 pm prior to the visitation. The funeral service will be held at the Harvey Baptist Church, Harvey, Albert County, on Tuesday, November 13th, 2007 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Timothy Johnson officiating and Rev. Greg Geldart assisting. Immediately following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends at the church for further fellowship and for refreshments. Interment will be held in the Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Hill. For those who wish, donations to the Cancer Society, Forest Dale Home or to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
