QUILLA MARTHA PEARL OWEN
OWEN, QUILLA MARTHA PEARL Quilla Martha Pearl Owen passed into the arms of God on December 2 2007, at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on October 31, 1914 in Hayslip, Ontario, Quilla met and married the love of her life, Ronald Lewis Owen in Kingston, Ontario and after almost sixty years of marriage Ron passed away in 2003. Quilla is also predeceased by grandson, Ronald James Owen in 2006. Quilla was a beloved wife and mother who dedicated her life to the care and nurturing of her family. She was an avid gardener, a top knotch cook and was highly skilled in the art of knitting and crocheting. Over the years Quilla was involved in various activities that were dedicated in some way to helping others. Quilla leaves behind her son, Ronald "Ted" (Anne) Owen; daughters, Bonnie Owen and Darlene (Noel) MacCormac; grandchildren, Martha (George) Ecker, Timothy (Shawna) MacCormac, Terence (Shannon) MacCormac, Richard (Carly) Owen, Kaleigh (Jason) Miller; great grandchildren, Tyler, Jacob, Shyla, Olivia, Carys and Marlee. The family wishes to thank Dr. Peter Fraser for his many years of service to the family and the nursing staff at the Oromocto Public Hospital for the tender care of Quilla prior to her passing. A special thanks to the caregivers who looked after Quilla over the past five years. We also wish to pass on our gratitude to Padre Malcolm Berry for his assistance in spiritually guiding us through this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to either the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society. Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 4th, 2007 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 5th, 2007 at 11:00 am from the funeral home chapel. A private interment will be held in the Anglican Cemetery in Ripples.
