McTIERNAN, GEORGE THOMAS After a brief battle with cancer, the passing of George Thomas McTiernan of Fredericton, NB, husband for 49 years of Loretta (LeBlanc) McTiernan, occurred on December 5, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 23, 1931 in Minto, NB, he was the son of the late William and Sarah (Monahan) McTiernan. He was a member of the Canadian Air Force. George belonged to the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his wife, George is survived by his sons, Patrick (Lauren) McTiernan of Prince George, BC and Ronald (Chris Lewis) McTiernan of Ottawa, ON; step-daughter, Dianne (Bob) Hudson of Waltham, Mass; granddaughters, Keri and Catrina; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, George was predeceased by sisters, Dorothy, Helen and Gertrude; brothers, Louis, Fred, Bernard and Joseph. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, December 7, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 11am with Father John Jennings officiating. Interment will take place in St. Bridget's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hardwood Ridge, NB.
