MCCARTY, GUELDA SYMBOLINE The passing of Guelda S. McCarty of New Maryland occurred peacefully at the White Rapids Manor, Fredericton Junction, NB on Monday, December 10th, 2007. Born in Ritchie, NB on December 28th, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Scott and Katie (Parker) Ritchie and wife of the late Donald McCarty. Guelda taught school in Fredericton for many years and was very active in the Girl Guide movement in Fredericton and on the Provincial level from her early teen years until her retirement. Survived by her son, Douglas and wife, Myrna of New Maryland; special niece, Doris DeMerchant of Woodstock; four grandchildren, Danny (Karen) McCarty of Rusagonis, Joanne (Mark) Seymour, Jill (Allen) Corrie all of Fredericton, and Peter (Kady) McCarty of Wisconsin; eight great-grandchildren, Donnie, Jordan, Elijah, Sawyer and Reece McCarty, Laura Seymour, Zachary and Nicolas Corrie; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Pickard and Louise MacKenzie. Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road with visitation on Thursday, December 13, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2007 at 2pm from the Faith Baptist Church, New Maryland with Pastor Larry Matthews officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. For those who wish memorials may be made to the Faith Baptist Church Building Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
