GRETA GERTRUDE (POND) COOKSON
COOKSON, GRETA GERTRUDE (POND) Greta Gertrude (Pond) Cookson, of Cross Creek, NB, wife of the late Clair Cookson, went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on November 24, 1918 in Woodlands, NB, she was a daughter of the late Ottis and Lottie (Jones) Pond. Greta was a member of the Cross Creek Baptist Church. Greta's interests included, knitting, flowers, bird watching and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Greta is survived by one son, Carl (Marg) Cookson of Stanley, NB; two daughters, Faye Noble (Richard) of Calgary, AB and Patricia Dunphy (David) of Hanwell, NB; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Ruby Harvey of Marysville, NB, Glenna Pollock of Dartmouth, NS, Roberta Willett (Murray) of Brooklin, ON, Leota Henderson of Stanley, NB, Della Donovan of Woodstock, NB; several nieces, nephews and special friends, Linda J. and C.J. Besides her husband and parents, Greta was predeceased by one brother, Cecil Pond; one infant brother and two infant sisters. Visitation will take place in the "Son-Shine Room" at Cross Creek Baptist Church, Cross Creek, NB, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place from the church on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 2 pm with Pastor Gordon Mowry officiating. Interment will take place in the Cross Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Cross Creek, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Cross Creek Baptist Church Cemetery or to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
