BREWER, NELLIE M. It is with great sadness that the family of Nellie Madeline Brewer announce her passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Tuesday, January 2, 2008. She was 79. Born July 7, 1928 at Brewer Mills, NB, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Brewer) Merrithew. Nellie was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Zealand, NB also St. Paul's Anglican Church Guild and The Forester's Club. Nellie is survived by four children, Lewis Brewer (Rosemary) of Victoria, BC, Dale Brewer (Bonnie) of Keswick, JoAnn Brewer of Fredericton and Toby Barr (Steven) of Moncton; two granddaughters, Heather Barr of Fredericton and Jami Barr of Moncton; three grandsons, Christopher and Andrew Brewer both of Victoria, BC and Jeremy Brewer (Amanda) of Zealand; one sister, Myrtle Crouse of Fredericton; one brother, Lorne Merrithew (Rose) of Burtt's Corner; nieces and nephews. Her parents and her husband, Burchill Glenwood Brewer (2005); a daughter, Dixie Lee Brewer; sisters, Juanita London, Effie Burtt and Georgina Brewer and brothers, David and Henry Merrithew Brewer all predeceased her. Although there will be no visitation hours, relatives and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service to be held at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Main St., Fredericton, on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Canon Bill MacMullin will officiate. A reception will be held at 110 McKnight St. (2nd floor Social Room) immediately following the service. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
