SHIRLEY ANN DAYE
DAYE, SHIRLEY ANN After a 10 year courageous battle with breast cancer, God granted Shirley (Fairweather) Daye rest on December 29, 2007, at the age of 61. Shirley leaves behind her best friend and loving husband of 39 years, Wayne Daye, her son Darren Daye (Kristina Mitchell) of Kamloops, BC; her daughter Rhonda Daye (Jason Eardley) of Victoria, BC, the apple of her eye, granddaughter Emmersen Ann; her special grandson Adam; loving family in the east, west and Ontario and many dear friends. Born in Chipman, NB, on August 3, 1946, Shirley met the love of her life at a young age and married in 1968. They soon made their way to British Columbia to begin their lives together and start a family. Many wonderful years were spent in Cranbrook, BC, raising their two children and running a successful business before venturing off to Victoria and finally settling in Kamloops, BC. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Shirley gave silently and loved loudly, always putting others first. A special thanks to Dr. Langford and staff of the 8th floor Cancer Clinic for assisting Shirley throughout the years. Thanks to Paster Harry Bicknell for his guidance and support and thanks to the nurses and volunteers at Kamloops Hospice for their loving grace and care. A celebration of Shirley's life was held Thursday, January 3rd, 2008, in the Summit Baptist Church, Kamloops, BC. Donations to the Kamloops Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. A memorial service for Shirley for her family and friends in New Brunswick will be held in Chipman at a later date.
