Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, June 22, 2008, Samuel James Pittman, age 83 years of Whitbourne. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Ivy; sons: Jim (Lorraine), Randy (Glenda); daughter Lorene (Deon Dyson); grandchildren: Tracy, Greg, Alison, Sam, Leah and Jessica; great-grandson Daniel; brothers: Ron (June), Bill (Terry); sisters: Betty, Freddie (Mervin Parrott); sisters-in-law: Marie (Jim Dicks), Vera (Ches Parsons), Juanita (Don Mullins), Frances Ingram and Greta Dicks, also a large circle of relatives and friends. Predeceased by his sister Frances; brothers-in-law: Hector Dicks and Berkley Ingram. Visitation at Holloway's Funeral Home, Whitbourne, Tuesday, June 24, 2008, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2008 from St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Whitbourne.
