GRACE CATHERINE (KAY) DINEEN
DINEEN, GRACE CATHERINE (KAY) The death of Kay Dineen, 85, widow of Dr. James O. Dineen, occurred on February 3, 2008, at hospital in Fredericton. She was the daughter of Grace (Duffy) and Joseph Archambault of Superior, Wisconsin, and the adopted daughter of Irene (Cooney) and George Dineen of Calgary, Alberta. Kay was educated at Saint Mary's, Calgary and at St. Michael's College, Toronto before marrying and moving to Fredericton in 1941. She was a wife, mother and active member of St. Dunstan's Parish, CWL and the UNB Faculty Women's Club. Kay was a generous volunteer to many community organizations. She is survived by four children; James, George, Patricia (Jim Piercy) and Barbara Hill: by fourteen grandchildren; Sandra Dineen, Shannon, Sean and Michael (Kathleen) Lee, Grace, Anna, Jim, Jack and Julia Piercy and Charles, Thomas, Sarah, Martin and Elizabeth Hill; by three great-grandchildren and by sister-in-law Admere Archambeau. Kay was predeceased by her parents and adoptive parents, by her husband, her brother, a daughter, a grand daughter, a daughter-in-law and a son-in-law. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Funeral Home, Thursday, February 7, 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Dunstan's Church, Friday, February 8, 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Dr. J.O. Dineen Memorial Scholarship, University of New Brunswick, would be appreciated.
