ALLEN, GERALD VINCENT "JAY" The passing of Gerald Vincent "Jay" Allen, of Fredericton, NB, husband of Eleanor (Ebbett) Allen, occurred on Friday, February 08, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 6, 1922 in Marysville, NB, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Purkiss) Allen. Gerald was a sales representative for London Life in Saint John for 32 years. He was a past member of the Saint John Fish and Game Association. Gerald enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting, fishing and camping. In addition to his wife, Eleanor, Gerald is survived by his grandson, Andrew L. Jeffrey; sister, Francis Frost of Victoria, BC; sisters-in-law, Mary K. Murch (Joe) and Connie Ebbett; brother-in-law, Stanley Ebbett (Darlene) all of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Beside his parents, Gerald was predeceased by his daughter, Susan E. (Allen) Jeffrey; brother-in-law, John R. Ebbett. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 2 pm with Rev. Bill MacLeod officiating. Interment will take place in the Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery at a later date.
