BLAINE ELIJAH SPENCER
SPENCER, BLAINE ELIJAH The passing of Blaine Elijah Spencer, husband of Lillian (Lovelace) Spencer, of Hayesville, NB, occurred on February 14, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in the arms of his loving wife with his family around him. Born on April 29, 1933 in Parkers Ridge, NB, he was a son of the late Stuart "Ted" and Ada (Calhoun) Spencer. Previously employed by Rocky Brook Fishing Camp, Blaine enjoyed woodworking, building things for his loved ones and the singing from family and friends at the Holtville Pentecostal Church. He will be remembered for being an excellent husband, father and grandfather and for his love of hunting, fishing and playing his harmonica. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Shirlene Arseneau (Ron) of Fredericton; one son, Brian Spencer (Ruby) of Hayesville; five grandchildren, Adam Stapledon (Tanya Scott), Michael Stapledon, Michelle Wilson (Andrew), Patti McAllister (Jared) and Denna Spencer; six great grandchildren, Brendan, Christian and Abby Stapledon, Janelle Wilson, Denver and Calee McAllister; three sisters, Betty Black (Hugh) of Miramichi, Gracie Greene of Fredericton, Dixie-Lee Folkins (Lawrence) of Sussex; five brothers, Berton of Astle, Dell (Elizabeth) of Boiestown, Vaughn of Elliott Lake, ON, Terry (Ethel) of Holtville, Leroy (Joyce) of Beaver Dam; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Cindy Munn and Jodi Steeves. In addition to his parents, Blaine was predeceased by one sister, Jacquetta Fowler; three brothers, Gene, Reginald and Calvin; two sisters-in-law, Faith Spencer and Patsy Spencer; and one brother-in-law, Frederick Greene. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon, NB on Saturday, February 16, 2008 from 7-9 pm and Sunday, February 17, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Holtville Pentecostal Church on Monday, February 18, 2008 at 2 pm with Pastor Carroll Carter officiating. Interment will take place at Cameron Hill Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
