HARVEY, RUBY ELIONA It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Ruby Eliona Harvey, wife of the late Roy Harvey, on February 17th, 2008 at her home in Marysville. Born on May 11th, 1914 in Woodlands, NB, Ruby was the daughter of the late Otis and Lottie (Jones) Pond and a member of the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Fredericton, NB. With one brother and the eldest of six sisters, Ruby assumed a Mothering role at a very young age. Always a hard worker, she began her working career by assisting her father to drive mail in Woodlands. Subsequent employment included the Stanley telephone office, Marysville Cotton Mill, Buzzells Cleaners, Hartt Boat & Shoe Factory and the K-Mart where she was employed as a seamstress. Leisure time was spent tending to her garden, her flowers, knitting, crocheting and sewing. Ruby is survived by one son, Everett (Colleen); two granddaughters, Leanne and Laurel Harvey; four sisters, Glenna Pollock of Dartmouth, NS, Roberta Willet (Murray) of Brooklin, ON, Della Donovan of Woodstock, NB and Leota Henderson of Stanley, NB; several nieces and nephews and special friends & caregivers, Kim and Cathy. Besides her husband and parents, Ruby was predeceased by two brothers, Cecil Pond and infant brother, James; three sisters, Greta Cookson, infant sisters, Freda and Barbara. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 20th, 2008 at 2 pm from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel with Rev. Doug Blaikie officiating and Rev. Kimberly Barlow assisting. Interment will take place in the Saint Peters Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Stanley, NB at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances made to the Canadian Red Cross, Extra Mural Program (Fredericton Unit) or the Saint Peters Presbyterian Church Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
