O'BRIEN, BARRY H. It is with great sadness that the family of Barry H. O'Brien announce his passing after a courageous battle with cancer. Barry passed away on Tuesday, March 04, 2008 in the Palliative Care at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, on August 16, 1944, he was the son of the late John and M. Lena (Elward) O'Brien of Saint John. Barry has been residing in Estey's Bridge, NB and was employed for 23 years at CFB Gagetown as a civilian worker. Barry will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Shirley (nee Carrier); one daughter, Mona M. Mazerolle (Jamie) of Minto, NB; one son, Donald Michael (Cathy) of Saint John, NB; grandchildren, Natalie, Jeremy, Destiny and Brandon; one great-grandchild, Jaden Justin; many nieces and nephews; brothers, Jack O'Brien (Myrtle) of Thompson, MN, Donald V. O'Brien of Brandon, MN; three sisters, Jean Silversides (Richard) of Victoria, BC, Lois Asbridge of Saint John, NB and Barbara Slattery (James) of Petitcodiac, NB; sisters-in-law, Eva Lavigne (Nelson), Mona Hennigar (Donald) and Carmella Comeau (Joe) all of Fredericton, NB, Teen Hayes (Murray) of Williamsburg, NB; brothers-in-law, Leon (Judy), Howard and Stewart Carrier. In addition to his parents, Barry was predeceased by his oldest sister, M. Elizabeth Asbridge; grandson, Justin Mazerolle; brothers-in-law, Raymond Carrier and Preston Carrier. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, March 6, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Dunstan's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, March 7, 2008 at noon with Father Jerry White as celebrant. Pallbearers for the service will be David Brewer, Nelson Lavigne, Allan McGormack, Michael McFarlane, Paul Boyd and Jason Slattery. Interment will take place in St. Anthony's Cemetery at a later date.
