BRIGGS, PHYLLIS GLORIA Phyllis G. Briggs of York Mills, wife of the late Allen (Tommy) A. Briggs, passed away at her home on March 5, 2008. Born at McAdam in 1929, she was a daughter of the late Emery R. Belyea and Marguerite (Short) Wright. Phyllis graduated from McAdam High School and Provincial Normal School. She taught in local schools, first as a full time teacher and in later years, on a supply basis. She loved teaching and interacting with young people which was evident in her relationship with her two grandsons through the years. Phyllis is survived by two sons, Wayne Briggs (Betty), York Mills and Kris Briggs (Jane), Magaguadavic; two grandsons, Trever Briggs, York Mills and Adon Briggs (Stephanie), Upper Kingsclear; a sister, Shirley Melanson (Mike), Debert, NS; a brother-in-law, Manley Briggs (Clarice), Fredericton; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Briggs, Surrey, BC and Betty Price, Tillsonburg, ON; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband in 2001; two sons, Richard and Kirk Briggs; two brothers Ronald and Burpee Belyea; a brother-in-law, Ross Briggs and a sister-in-law, Thelma Briggs.
