SOUCY, STELLA GEORGINA Our hearts were broken and God's arms were open ........ It is with great loss and sadness that the family of Stella G. Soucy of McAdam announce the passing of a beloved mother, grandmother and sister on March 6, 2008 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after eight years of battling cancer. She was blessed to have her family by her side. Born on August 3, 1943 in Surrey, England, she was a daughter of the late Archie and Kathleen (Hughes) Cleghorn. Stella was a housewife for 44 years. Her passions were painting, sewing alterations and cake decorating. She enjoyed tending her flower gardens and spending time with her family. Stella is survived by her five children, Cathy Young (Lawrence), Keswick, Sherrie Robertson, McAdam, Holly Hood (Michael), Magaguadavic, Crissy Soucy (Derek), McAdam and Denne Soucy, McAdam; many grandchildren, Daniel, Caleb, Tara and Anna Robertson, Jeffery and Alaina Hood, Kara Jane McLaughlin, Krystal, Amanda and Jake Soucy, Colton, Kyle and Chelesa Brewer, Angela, Christopher, Justin, Victoria, Olivia, Theresa and Anna Young. She is also survived by two brothers, Raymond Cleghorn (Edna), McAdam and Archie Cleghorn, Scarborough, ON, a sister, Diane Donaher (Wayne), McAdam and an uncle, Brian Hughes (Sylvia) and their son Stephen of England. She has several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Her niece Karen LeBlanc was very special to her heart. She was a woman of strong faith and attended the Catholic Church, Word of Faith Church and Voice of Pentecost Church. In addition to her parents, Stella was predeceased by her husband Maurice in December of 2007; a sister-in-law, Willie Cleghorn and a nephew, Stephen Cleghorn. Visiting hours will be held at Voice of Pentecost Church, 82 Harvey Road, McAdam on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the church with Rev. Stephen Tompkins officiating as well as Pastor Terry Messer. Luncheon will be held at the church following the service. Interment will be later at Rockland Cemetery. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Stella, the family has suggested the Lakeland Resource Center or charity of the donor's choice. Honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Young, Keith Robertson, Michael Hood, Derek Thurber and Terry Brewer. Active pallbearers will be grandsons Daniel and Caleb Robertson, Jeffery Hood and Colton Brewer and nephews, Ricky and Derrick Donaher.
