MARGARET JEAN HALL
HALL, MARGARET JEAN August 23, 1921 - April 19, 2008 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother Margaret Hall (nee Gilmore) in Nanaimo, B.C. Margaret was the beloved wife (+60 years) of the late W. Lawrence Hall, loving mother of Vernon (Lois), Grace Whitehouse (Rich) and Eleanor Sinclair (Bill), special grandmother to seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Margaret is also survived by two sisters in New Brunswick, Helen Tippett and Roberta Embelton, and brother-in-law, Gerald Hall, in Ontario. Besides Lawrence, she was predeceased by her parents, Jane and Elbridge Gilmore, four sisters and two brothers. Margaret grew up in New Brunswick, teaching school in a one room school house before marrying Lawrence. Mom happily supported Dad in his career, setting up homes in Fredericton, Nelson, Winnipeg and New Westminster before retiring to Victoria in 1978. Mom lived a full, rich, productive life ever thankful for all of her blessings and life's small pleasures. She dealt with everything that came her way with a combination of faith, strength, grace, humour, and determination. She loved traveling, reading, handiwork, bridge, friends, music, theatre and nature. But above all she treasured her family and children. A very special thank-you to the wonderful staff at Berwick on the Lake and all her Berwick friends for making life so pleasant the past three and a half years. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Nanaimo, on Saturday, May 10th. at 1 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations to Operation Eyesight Universal, #4 Parkdale Cres. NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 3T8; All Saints parish c/o Alban Street, New Maryland, N.B. or charity of your choice would be appreciated. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com
