LEONA M. CALABRESE
CALABRESE, LEONA M. The death of Leona M. Calabrese of Minto occurred Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born in Minto NB on October 17th, 1920, she was the daughter of Hilaire and Alphonsine Goguen. Leona was a longtime faithful member of St Michael and All Angels Anglican Church; a dedicated member of the ACW and Altar Guild. As an active citizen, she was a founding member of the Minto Service for Seniors and a past president of the Minto Senior Citizen's Organization. She was a past Worthy Matron and 50 year plus member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Leona is survived by her five children, Hazel MacKenzie (Mel) of Minto, Hazen F. Calabrese (Corinne) of Douglas, Bonnie Anderson (Murray) of Hardwood Ridge, Alice Kennedy (Bruce) of Hampton, and Bernadette Coburn (Rob) of Douglas; sister-in-law, Helen Calabrese (Ed) of Moncton; brother-in-law, Jack Calabrese (Joyce) of Newcastle Creek; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Calabrese; a brother, Frank Goguen; and a sister, Laura Veres. Resting at the Minto Funeral Home (327-3490) where the family will receive visitors on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, April 28th, 2008 at Saint Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, Minto with Rev. Philip Pain officiating assisted by Rev. John Cathcart. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. For those who wish, donations can be made to St. Michael's Anglican Church or the charity of one's choice.
