FOSTER, MARY GERTRUDE Mary Gertrude Foster died peacefully at home on Friday, April 25, 2008. She was 97. Born in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the later Francis and Helena (Melanson) Foster. Mary left Fredericton and worked many years for Canadian National Railway until she retired and returned to live with her two sisters. She was a devote member of St. Dunstan's Parish and a charter member of the Catholic Women's League. Mary loved life, enjoyed traveling to experience the world and took much pleasure in being with family and friends. She is survived by her loving sister, A. Yvonne Foster of Fredericton, NB, sister-in-laws, Camilla Foster of New Jersey and Theresa Melanson of Nova Scotia as well as several nieces and nephews. Mary is predeceased by her sister C. Irene Foster and her brothers, Arthur Foster, Raymond Foster and Lewis Melanson. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Gerald White at St. Dunstan's Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 12:00 noon. For those who wish, memorial tributes in Mary's honour may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
