LINDA RUTH DASHWOOD
DASHWOOD, LINDA RUTH The death of Linda R. Dashwood wife of Bob Black of Kiersteadville occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on May 20, 2008. She was the daughter of the late George and Madilaine (Barnett) Dashwood. Linda was born in Saint John in 1951 and graduated from high school there, and went on to graduate from UNB Fredericton. She started her working career for the City of Saint John in the H/R Department and later worked for Nortel as a Human Resource manager. Moving to Fredericton in the 1980's, she joined the Provincial Government civil services in the department of training employee development and worked in several management positions, most recently as Director Management Services before her recent retirement. Always very active in community groups, including past Board member and executive of Family Services Saint John, Board of Directors of the Canadian Cancer Society - Saint John, involvement in Leadership Fredericton, President of UNB Women's Alumnae, and served on the UNB Board of Governors. Her interests were varied from making drums and angels, to kayaking, hiking, fishing and enjoying nature's wonders. Always one for self development, she loved her circle groups, particularly the drumming circles. Linda has deeply touched the lives of many with her gift of insight leaving this world a better place. An extraordinary women who will be missed by all who loved her. Surviving in addition to her husband, Bob is her daughter, Jessica Holt of Fredericton; brothers, Bill (Starr) Dashwood and Richard (Pat) all of Saint John; niece, Cara Dashwood - Lee, and nephew, Ryan Dashwood. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701). Visiting on Thursday from 2 until 8 pm only. The funeral service will take place on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. from Fallsview Chapel. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Following the interment, a reception will take place at Fallsview Family Reception Centre. Donations in memory of Linda to the Canadian Cancer Society, Hospice Saint John, or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by her family.
