DONALD LYMAN MOREHOUSE

MOREHOUSE, DONALD LYMAN March 18th, 1926 - June 2nd, 2008. On Monday, June 2nd, 2008, Don Morehouse passed away at the DECRH while surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Digby, NS, Don served with the Canadian Army during the 2nd World War before moving to New Brunswick. He worked in sales, book keeping, accounting and as manager for Fredericton's first A & W outlet. Along with his love for music, church, and a little golf, Don particularly loved family gatherings and singing his favorite songs. His quick wit and "punny" sense of humor was always enjoyed by all. Don was affiliated with the Lutheran Church and was actively involved with St. Matthews in Fredericton. Don is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elly (Pedersen); son, Rick (Marie) of Taymouth; daughter, Deborah Currie (Ralph) of Fredericton. Grandchildren Kelsey and Brent will miss their "Grampie". Don is also survived by sisters, Allison Perry of Saint John, NB, Ruth Fitt (Charlie) of Enderby, BC, Jean Morehouse of Victoria, BC; brothers, David Morehouse (Ellen) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Leigh Morehouse (Mae) of Miramichi, NB; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Archie and Hilda (Peters) Morehouse. Cremation will take place at Don's request. Visitation will be held on Thursday June 5, 2008 at Bishop's Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel on Friday June 6, 2008 at 2pm with Canon Tom Smith officiating. Internment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Denmark on Saturday June 7, 2008 at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Don's memory may be made to NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, St. Matthews Church, Fredericton or Canadian Cancer Society. www.bishopsfuneralhome.com
