BRIGGS, RICHARD "DICK" SHIRLEY Suddenly at the DECH, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008. Richard Briggs Shirley of Minto passed away in his 72nd year. Born on July 6th, 1936, only son of the late Fredrick and Eunice (Briggs) Shirley of Briggs Corner. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 45 years, Mary Louise (Hughes); his three girls, Lynne (Danny) Allen of Fredericton, Pamela (Murry) Knox of Hardwood Ridge, Debra Boudreau of Minto; four grandchildren, Matthew Knox (Krista), Amanda Knox (Jamie), Kristen and Rachael Boudreau; special friends, Henry and Blanche Daamen and his four legged companion Jade. Dick was a stationary engineer at NB Power Dalhousie, St. Anne Nackawic Pulp and Paper, and Grand Lake Generating Station; he retired from NB Coal in 1993. He enjoyed boating and spending time with family and friends at their cottage at Burlock Beach. As per his wishes a private service will be held for immediate family only.
