Colwell It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Ruby Edith Colwell on January 11, 2009 at the age of 91. Ruby was born December 26, 1917 and raised south of Tugaske on the family farm. She married Maurice Colwell March 26, 1938 and they farmed west of Tugaske in the Bridgeford area for over 50 years retiring to Tugaske. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Texas every winter as a Snowbird where they loved dancing and visiting with friends they had met. Ruby was predeceased by her husband of 60 years in 1998, her parents John and Edith McPhee; three sisters: Pearl, May and Olive. She is survived by children: Frank (Sophie), Kay (Doug) Black, Derek (Annabelle), Patricia, Ron (Linda), Randy (Roselyn), Mitchell (Genie); thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Howard (Lois) and numerous other relatives. Following cremation a burial and memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the Tugaske Cemetery Fund, Box 40, Tugaske, Sask., S0H 4B0. The family would like to thank the staff at Extendicare for their compassionate care. In living memory of Ruby, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
