BISHOP, VERDA CAROL MAUDE On June 20, 2008 at the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital,following a short illness, Verda Bishop of St. Ann's Court has gone to be with her Lord at the age of 93. Born in Hardwood Ridge, NB she was a daughter of the late James and Maude (Higgins) Brown and wife of the late Calvin Gillis Bishop. Verda attended the Northside Fundamental Baptist Church. She was a much loved mother, nana, great grandmother and sister. Surviving are a daughter, Betty Lou Gordan (Lloyd) of Fort Myers, Florida; son, Paul Calvin Bishop of Saint John NB; brother, Alvin Brown (Mary) of Lower St. Mary's NB; grandchildren, Mary-Lou McKay (Doug), Shirley Swett (Dale), Carol Jean Annand (Dave) all of Fort Myers, Florida, Rose Anne Bower (Tim) of Walandrea, Haiti, Heather Lynne DeCou (Andy) of Greenville, S.C., Michelle Hatfield (Jeff) of St. George, NB, David Bishop (Melissa) of London, Ont.; sixteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Gramma Bish will be sorely missed by all. Predeceased by a brother, Arnold and sisters, Blanche Campbell and Lois Wilson. Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Thursday June 26, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held Friday, June 27, 2008 at 1:00 PM from Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel 540 Woodstock Rd. with Rev. Roland Day officiating. Interment to follow in the United Baptist Cemetery, Chipman NB.
