LLOYD MITCHELL RUSSELL
RUSSELL, LLOYD MITCHELL Mr. Lloyd Mitchell Russell, husband of Irma (O'Donnell) Russell of Doaktown NB, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Moncton City Hospital, at the age of 79. Born in Doaktown NB, he was the son of the late Robert S. and Edith M. (Mitchell) Russell. He was retired as general manager of Russell & Swim sawmill in Doaktown. He was a member of St Thomas United Church and the Miramichi Sno Goers. Besides his wife Irma; he is survived by three daughters, Gail Archibald of Hammonds Plains NS, Wendy Henwood (James) of Amherst NS, Shelley Tracey of Doaktown; four sisters, Helen Fredeen (Lester) of Flin Flon Manitoba, Audrey Palmer (Walter) of Moncton, Alma Toogood (George) of Moncton, Olive Cripps (Kenneth) of Moncton; three brothers, Myles Russell of Doaktown, Claude (Lillian) Russell of Doaktown, Stanley (Patricia) Russell of Vancouver; one grandson, David Tracey (Darrah) of Fredericton. Besides his parents he was predeceased by one infant son, Stephen Bennett; one sister, Marguerite Surrette; and one son-in-law, Dean Archibald; and sister-in-law, Joan Russell and Marie Russell. The Family meet with relatives and friends at Davidson's Funeral Home, 579 Main Street, Doaktown, with visitation on Sunday June 22, from 2 to 4 (only) and Monday June 23, from 7 to 9 (only). The Funeral Service was held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from St Thomas United Church, Doaktown, with Rev. Carol Mullin officiating. Organist was Monty Carr. Special music was by blended choirs. Hymns were "Stay With us through the Night", "Make Me a Channel of Your Peace". Anthem was "In the Bulb there is a Flower". Readings were by Jim Henwood and Bill Mitchell. Burial followed in the family plot of St Thomas United Church Cemetery, South Road, Doaktown. At the request of the family donations to Canadian Cancer Society, Friend's of the Moncton Hospital (Palliative Care Unit) or St Thomas United Church would be appreciated. Honorary Pallbearers were: Bill Mitchell, Terry Clowater, Ken Robinson, Beth Storey, Joanne Storey and Mary Hunter.
