FLETCHER, EDWARD "ED" A. The sudden passing of Edward "Ed" A. Fletcher of Marysville, NB occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Sunday, June 29, 2008. He was 75. Born June 28, 1933 in Fredericton, he was the son of the late Joseph Armstrong Fletcher and Pamela Ann (Brown) Fletcher. Ed was affiliated with the Marysville Baptist Church. He worked with General Dairies for 18 years and later with Wood Motors as a car salesman. He also operated a Petro-Canada Gas Station in Barkers Point and for the past 34 years operated the Marysville Bowling Lanes. He also served on the Town Council in Marysville. A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed playing softball, curling, bowling and most recently was inducted into the General Dairies Softball Hall of Fame. He was a member of the United Commercial Travelers. Ed also enjoyed spending time at his trailer at Everett's Campground. Ed is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Joan (Higgins) Fletcher; his much cherished children, Cindy Marshall of Marysville, Nancy Fletcher of Fredericton and Randy Fletcher of Marysville. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Pamela Bennett (Christopher) of Ottawa and Michel Marshall of Fredericton; great grandchildren Andrew and Caleb Bennett and chosen granddaughter Hope Wheeler. He is also survived by two brothers, Joseph Fletcher (Berniece) of Magaguadavic and twin brother George Fletcher (Madeleine) of Fredericton; a sister-in-law Penny Fletcher of Fredericton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents, son-in-law Terry Marshall, a sister Josephine and a brother Douglas. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from the Marysville Baptist Church on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 3:30 PM with Rev. David Dubois officiating. Interment in the Marysville Baptist Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or the MS Society of Canada (Atlantic Division) would be appreciated by the family.
