MCALINDEN, GERALD JOSEPH (TIM) The death of Gerald Joseph (Tim) McAlinden occurred peacefully on Sunday, June 29th, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital at the age of 78. Born January 21st, 1930 in Fredericton, NB he was the son of the late Michael and Rita (McGinnis) McAlinden. Tim is survived by his five children, Boni Scott, Mike McAlinden and Patrick McAlinden both of Calgary, AB, Greg and Nancy (Hildebrand) and Lori and Tom Davis. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Rita McAlinden; special friend, Diane Messer; and grandchildren, Nicholas, Timmy, Tyler, Eric, Christina and Delainee. Tim is predeceased by his parents, and was the last surviving member of his siblings, being predeceased by his brothers, Ron, Joe and Bob; and sisters, Rita and Shirley. Tim started his adult life serving his country in the navy for four years. Tim was a regular Mr. Fix-it who spent the first half of his working career at various jobs with the last twenty years being at the Regional Lab at the DECH. The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Calvin Bruce for his dedicated care and compassion extended to the family over the last years of Tim's life and the Staff of 4SW for their kindness and professional care. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will take place in the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Thursday, July 3rd, 2008 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gerald White officiating. Interment will take place in the Hermitage Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
