MERLYN ALBERT BREWER
BREWER, MERLYN ALBERT Merlyn Albert Brewer of Fredericton, NB, formerly of Burtts Corner, passed away on July 7, 2008 at DECH, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 3, 1928 and was the son of the late Elmer and Hattie (Estey) Brewer. Merlyn shared his life with his wife of 59 years, Shirley (Billings); son, Terry (Beth) Brewer; daughters, Corrine Brewer and Pam (Rodney) Brewer; grandchildren, Kirk (Laura) Brewer, Craig Price, Kari (William) Carmichael, Coralie (Rob) Boyle, Shellany (Shane S.) Brewer, Shianne (Mark) St. Peter and Shane C. R. Brewer; great grandchildren, Kyle, Jessica and Anderlee Brewer, Ryan Brewer, Jonathan and Alivia Carmichael, Thomas and Madelyn Boyle, Jacob St. Peter, Hunter and Emma Brewer. Survived by his sister, Geraldine (Eldon) Dunphy; sisters-in-law, Margaret Brewer and Connie Brewer; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Merlyn was predeceased by one son, Clifton (Kip) Brewer; brothers, Clifford and Arnold Brewer. Before Merlyn's retirement, he was a building contractor. He was a chartered member of the Burtts Corner Lions Club. When Merlyn lived in Burtts Corner, he enjoyed entertaining his family and friends in his garage. He enjoyed 4 wheeling and going for long drives to see the countryside. Pallbearers will be Kirk Brewer, Craig Price, Shane G. Brewer, Rob Boyle, Mark St. Peter and Shane C. R. Brewer; Honourary pallbearers, Carl Anderson, Paul Yerxa, Sherman Yerxa, Hughie Hughson, Francis Brewer, Stewart Brewer, Gerald Billings and Owen Billings. His family and friends will sadly miss him. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Burtts Corner Baptist Church (1034, Route 104) on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 2 pm with Rev. David Wellwood officiating. Interment will take place in Burtts Corner Community Cemetery. Reception will follow at church. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Burtts Corner Baptist Church or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
