ACKERSON, STANLEY JOHN At his home in Ripples N B, Stanley John Ackerson passed away on August 4th, 2008 at the age of 85. Born in Ripples, NB, he was a son of the late John & Bessie (Robertson) Ackerson. A self-employed contractor & Truck Driver, he also was the cleaning contractor for the Royal Canadian Legion for 23 years. He is survived by his wife Gladys (Tapley) Ackerson, one son Paul (Nancy) of Maugerville, one brother Walter Ackerson of Minto as well as several nieces & nephews. Predeceased by his parents, three sisters Ruby, Violet & Marjorie, two brothers Ernest & Borden. Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road on Wednesday August 6th, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Bishop's Funeral Home chapel on Thursday, August 7th at 2 pm with Rev. Daniel Swim officiating assisted by Rev. Ivan Young. Interment to follow in the Ripples Community Cemetery. For those who wish, Memorial donations can be made to the Parkinson's Foundation of Canada or to the NB Extra Mural Program.
