SANDOR GYUK
GYUK, SANDOR The passing of Sandor Gyuk, husband of Patricia (Drapeau) Gyuk, of Fredericton, occurred on August 8, 2008 at his home. Born on May 26, 1930 in Rakospolata, Hungary, he was a son of the late Istvan and Lubyca (Menovics) Gyuk. Sandor was a machinist at York Steel for 30 years and was a member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church. He loved to travel. He is survived by two sons, Sandor (Elizabeth) of Winnipeg and Phillip (Tarah) of Fredericton; two daughters, Isabel (Larry) Vienneau of Fredericton and Lubyca Gyuk (Mike Hennessey) of Fredericton; eight grandchildren; one chosen grandson; two brothers, Zigmond Gyuk of Fredericton and Imre (Mariska) Gyuk of Budapest, Hungary; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Istvan, Janus and Demeter and one sister, Terra Andahavi. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church on Monday, August 11, 2008 at 11:00 am with Father John Jennings as celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances made to the IWK, Fredericton Food Bank or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
