MONA GRACE NICHOLSON
NICHOLSON, MONA GRACE Mona G. Nicholson of Lr. Kingsclear, NB passed away August 12, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born at Dow Settlement, NB in 1918, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Reta (Patterson) McLellan. Together with her husband John Nicholson, Mona lived for many years in Riceville, Carleton County, NB. Several years after his death she moved to Lr. Kingsclear. She enjoyed many activities, including quilt making, sewing and knitting. Mona took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a life member of the Women's Missionary Society and first a member of the Meductic United Baptist Church and later, the Second Kingsclear United Baptist Church. Mona was a loving mother to her two daughters, Eldora Thomas (Darrell), Fredericton, NB and Bessie Langille (Don), Wicklow, NB; and her two sons, Errol Nicholson (Ruth), Island View, NB and Alton Nicholson (Alice), Fredericton, NB. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Shelley Grasse (Carter), Steven Nicholson, Angela Hitchcock (Brent), Alaina Nicholson, Vance Thomas and Janice Thomas; six great grandchildren, Chelsea, Barrett, Summer, Katie, Matthew and Emily; two sisters, Jean Furrow (Donald), Saint John, NB and Josie Nickerson, Windsor, NS; a sister-in-law, Marguerite McLellan, Dow Settlement, NB and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mona was predeceased by her husband in 1980; two grandchildren, Laurie Nicholson-Coy and Andrew Nicholson; a sister, Mae McLellan; and four brothers, Donald, Whitney, Stewart and Moody McLellan. Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Meductic United Baptist Church, 391 Route 165 on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Charles Yerxa officiating. Interment will follow in the Lower Meductic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven Nicholson, Carter Grasse, Floyd Nicholson, Eric McLellan, Kelly Lewis and John O'Neill.
