CHAPMAN, EDNA MAE Edna Mae Chapman, beloved wife of Leslie Chapman, passed away quietly on September 19, 2008 in Fredericton at the age of 81. Born in Montreal on January 13, 1927, Edna was the daughter of the late William and Hannah (Handforth) Duckworth. A long-time resident of Bathhurst, Edna was a member of St. Georges Anglican Church and Past Regent of the Gloucester Chapter of the IODE. She loved gardening and cooking, accomplished at needlework and enjoyed watching her grandsons grow. Edna is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Leslie; her devoted daughter, Barbara Milner (Marc) of Fredericton; grandsons Matthew of Hamilton, Ont. and William (Jen) of Fredericton; sisters, Norma Dillon of Montreal, Hannah McAuley (Mac) of Morrisburg, Ont. and Willa Hawker of Toronto; brothers, Russell Duckworth (Bev) of Mississauga, Ont., John and Stanley Duckworth both of Montreal. She was predeceased by her son William "Billie" Chapman and her brother William Duckworth. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Christ Church Cathedral, Fredericton. Canon Neville Cheeseman will officiate. Internment to follow later in the Westcock Cemetery, Sackville, NB. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who wish to honor Edna's memory make a donation in her name to a charity of their choice.
