SHIRLEY MARGARET (DOAK) SPENCER
SPENCER, SHIRLEY MARGARET (DOAK) 1939 - 2008 It is with great sadness the family of Shirley Spencer wishes to announce her passing. Shirley's death occurred on September 29, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. She was the wife of the late Floyd Spencer. Born in Newcastle on October 22, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Hedley Doak. Shirley was Roman Catholic by faith. She was a resident of Pine Grove Nursing Home for five years. Shirley worked as a Red Cross homemaker for several years, a job in which she was very proud. She is survived by one daughter, Deborah Campbell (Donald) of Fredericton; two sons, Daniel Spencer and Wayne Spencer (Michelle). She had four grandchildren of which she was very proud, Dustin Brown, Brittnie Campbell and Aaden and Wyatt Spencer; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by son-in-law, Dale Brown. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, October 3, 2008 at 11 am with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating, reception to follow. Private interment will take place at Sunny Bank Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to Pine Grove Foundation, Palliative Care Unit at the DECH or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
