JOHN RUPERT WILLETT

WILLETT, JOHN RUPERT Friends and acquaintances are invited to join the family in a celebration of John's life, which will be held between 2 and 4 pm on Friday, October 3, 2008 at the Royal Kennebeccasis Yacht Club (RKYC). John R. Willett passed away at the Turnbull Home on April 28, 2008. He was born in Saint John, the eldest son of the late John G. and Essia J. (Jackson) Willett. John was a Veteran of World War II and President of the Willett Fruit Company from 1961 until his retirement in 1980. Active in his community, John sat on several boards and held memberships in many community organizations. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Phyllis (Hoben) Willett; children, Sharon and Ralph, both of Saint John, and Susanne of Fredericton; a brother, David of Halifax; sister-in-law, Marjorie Crowe (Geoffrey) of Rothesay; and several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his sisters, Helen and Sophia; and his brother, Donald. A private family service and interment at Fernhill Cemetery took place on May 5, 2008.
