MARILYN ANN HOVEY

HOVEY, MARILYN ANN Marilyn Ann Hovey of Houlton, Maine completed her earthly journey and met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 7, 2008. Marilyn fought the fight and finished the race with grace and dignity, bringing love and encouragement to all of those whose lives she touched. Marilyn loved being outdoors whether gardening, horseback riding or boating on Grand Lake with her family and friends. She rejoiced in life by serving others in her home, church and workplace. Marilyn's valiant battle with cancer touched the lives of people across the USA and Canada as she stood strong in her faith and trust in the Lord for over 2 ½ years never wavering. She was born, December 1, 1956 in Gagetown, NB the daughter of Gertrude Urquhart and the late Gordon Urquhart. Marilyn will be sadly missed but never forgotten by her loving husband Brian and her children, Matthew J. Armstrong, Taylor C. Armstrong , step-daughters Lindsay Hovey and Keegan Hovey of Houlton and Dara Watson, Darcie Hall and Danielle Chambers of Canada. She is survived by four brothers Donald & Debbie of Ontario, Doug & Bernice of Whites Cove, David & Donna of Fredericton, Wayne of Fredericton and her sister Judy Urquhart of Fredericton. Special thanks go to the countless family and friends who supported her during her battle with esophageal cancer with a special thank you to Jane Zimmerman and Kathy Ledger of Visiting Nurses and Hospice of Aroostook County. Viewing will be at the Houlton Wesleyan Church on Thursday, October 9th from 6-8 pm. The Funeral service will be on Friday, October 10th at 11:00 am @ the Houlton Wesleyan Church with Pastors Kevin Hatch and Randall Burns officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Marilyn has requested In lieu of flowers, donations be made to the following community groups: Celebrate Recovery, Pregnancy Care Center, A.S.A.P. (Aroostook Substance Abuse Prevention), Link 4 Hope and Visiting Nurses of Aroostook. Marilyn touched everyone she met with her contagious smile, exuberant love of life and her never-ending love for God, may we all do our best to emulate her example. Matthew 25:21 The Lord said to her, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' (NKJV)
