MALZAN, HELEN (née BAVIS) February 29, 1912 - September 30, 2008 Born in Cross Creek to Harry Bavis and Mary Hume Dorcas Bavis, Helen was the fifth of eight children. She is survived by two sisters: Annie Dorcas of Fredericton, and Jennie Bavis, 102 years old, of Stanley. Although Helen spent most of her life in Toronto, Ontario, she always maintained close ties with her family in New Brunswick. She was widowed in 1944 and never remarried. Her son, Gerhardt (Jerry) died in 1996. Helen is survived by her daughter, Lenore (Hollis Rinehart), and by her much beloved only grandchild, Hildreth Helena. Helen did not care for religion or ceremony, but she always liked a good party. Therefore, many who knew Helen over the years have been invited to her daughter's home in Toronto to enjoy themselves while sharing memories of life with Helen.
