PUGH, MADELINE M. The death of Madeline M. Pugh formerly of Burtt's Corner, NB occurred October 13th, 2008 at the Wauklehegan Manor, McAdam, NB. Born in Hawkshaw, NB on February 5th, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lillian (Sharp) Brewer and wife of the late Holly Pugh. Maddie moved to Burtt's Corner as a young woman, married Ralph Haines and lived in the Yukon for a few years. She worked as a secretary at the Keswick Valley School in Burtt's Corner, NB, retiring in 1983. She is survived by one son, Malcolm Haines and his wife Katie of Fredericton, NB; one grandson, Chris (Lois) Bentley; three step- grandchildren, Timothy Seeley, Karen Tims and Paula Seeley; four great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Brewer and Ruby Merrill as well as her best friend, Betty Haines. Predeceased by her first husband, Ralph; second husband, Holly; parents; two brothers, Murray (Marie) Brewer and Edison Brewer as well as four sisters, Helen (Gifton) Burtt, Betty (Carl) Vincent, Irma Brewer and infant sister, Madeline. A memorial service will be held at the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Thursday, October 16th, 2008 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Graham Crandall officiating. Interment will take place in the Burtt's Corner Community Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, memorial tributes in Maddie's honor may be made to the Burtt's Corner Cemetery Fund or to the Friends of Wauklehegan Manor.
