WILFRED MICHAEL MARK GUTHRIE
GUTHRIE, WILFRED MICHAEL MARK At the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital on November 7, 2008, Mark Guthrie of Fredericton passed away. Born on November 22, 1919 in Saint John, NB, he was a son of the late Wilfred and Evelyn (Simmino) Guthrie. He was Roman Catholic by faith, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4, as well as the Air Force Club. Mark served overseas in WWII in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe from 1941-1946. On August 5, 1945 he was appointed acting R.S.M w.e.f..which he was very proud of. Survived by the mother of his children Constance (Robinson) Guthrie; children, Robert Guthrie (Linda), Barry Guthrie, Brenda Holland (Donald) all of Fredericton; sisters, Charlotte Bignell and Theresa Degennnaro; brother, Joseph Dempsey; 5 grandchildren, Shea Rogers, Carrie (Cory) Urqhuart, Laurie (Jon) Hayes, Joel and Nick Holland; 6 great grandchildren, Kyle and Eric Rogers, Jacob and Connor Urqhuart, Brandon and Carter Hayes; special companion, Doreen Smith; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Ida, Shirley and Evelyn; brothers, Albert, Lloyd and Ted; grandson, Jason Guthrie; grandson in law, Geoff Rogers. No visitation by Mark's request, a private family service will be held from Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel with Father Jack Dolan officiating.
