BLOIS, EDITH C. The passing of Edith Cavel Blois of Fredericton occurred at York Manor Nursing Home on Thursday, November 20, 2008. She was 93. Born September 27, 1915 in Chatham, NB, she was the daughter of the late James M. and Hannah (Vye) Cassady. Edith was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Prior to her retirement, Edith was employed in the Food Service Industry for many years. She was a member of Christ Church Cathedral, Fredericton. Edith is survived by two daughters, Marlene Mitchell (Cecil) of Truro, NS and Helen Jones (Ernest) of Fredericton; 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, husband George Allen Blois; a son John George Blois and a number of siblings. The family will receive relative and friends at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Sunday, November 23, 2008 from 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 24, 2008 at 10:00 AM. Rev. Peter Thomas, Director of Pastoral Care at York Manor, will officiate. Interment at a later date. The family has requested memorial contributions be sent to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Fredericton SPCA.
