CHRISTENSEN, BARBARA A. L. Barbara A. L. Christensen, 81, of ProTem Health Services, Moncton and formerly of Shediac Cape, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, December 31, 2008. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late William and Minnie (Tait) Stewart. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Barbara was a lifetime member of the Hospital Auxillary, Fredericton. She was a former employee of the Bank of Montreal, Halifax, Shediac, Ottawa, Regina, Corner Brook. She was an ardent supporter of the War Amps and Friends of the Moncton Hospital and a regular attendant of the United Church of Canada, wherever she lived. Barbara will be sadly missed by her husband of 55 years, Murray Christensen; sons, William (Carolyn), Fredericton, James (Barbara), Bridgewater, NS, John (Luisa), London, ON; grandchildren, Victoria, Allison, Robbie, Nella, Barbara Anne; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, predeceased by brother, Robert. No visitation by personal request. Funeral service, Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Saturday, January 10, 2009, 1:00 pm, Rev. Meredith Fraser officiating. Reception following the service.
