MORRIS, HELEN MAE The death of Helen Mae (McKinnon) Morris occurred on January 5, 2009 at the Pine Grove Nursing Home. Helen was the daughter of the late George and Susan (Brooks) McKinnon and wife to the late George Morris. An avid sports person, Helen enjoyed bowling, golfing and curling. She was a Chartered Member of the Fredericton Curling Club, and a past member of the Fredericton Golf Club and the Gilridge Golf Club. Helen was also an avid bridge player. Helen is survived by her children, Patrick Morris (Cathy) of Islandview, NB, Peter Morris (Alida) of Trail, BC, Doug Morris (Terri) of PEI, and Barbara Morris of Grand Manan, NB; her grandchildren, Katherine, Michael, Gregory, Tony, Jamie, Christopher, Alana and Denise, and four great-grandchildren Gregory, Cameron, Kennedy and Seth. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband George; her brothers, Harold, James and Lloyd; and sisters, Minnie, Eileen and Enola. There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service will be held at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel (160 York Street, Fredericton, NB) on Saturday, January 10th, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Fr. Gerry White officiating. Interment will take place in the Hermitage Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Extra Mural Program would be appreciated by the family.
